Review Policy

Are you a publisher, public relations guru for an author,
or even the actual author who would like me to review your book?

Get Your Novel Reviewed Here!

Having me review and post my opinion about your novel is a great way to inform my readers about your story and website.

Review Requirements:

In order for me or a member of my family to review your book, you must send a non-returnable book or audio CD written/spoken in English for us to review. I always give my honest opinion in my posts and I won’t claim to like something that I or my children have not read!

I do have a higher preference for fiction (fantasy, paranormal & historical romance, horror, suspense, inspirational) and self-help/living (home interior, garden, health, parenting, marriage, self worth) books but I am open to review a synopsis of something else.

At this time I am not accepting self-published books or e-books. I want to hold a book in my hand or be able to listen to the story.

If you have a children’s book for review, my children are a boy age 8, a girl age 9, and a girl age 3 to give you an idea of what age level of reading that would be appropriate for my family.

If I or my children read more than half of the book but discontinue I will write a synopsis and then a semi-review as I state reasons why I could not continue reading it.

Scheduling:

I am a wife and mother to 3 so books/audio CDs MUST be received at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled review date.  If they are not received in time, a review will not be posted on the scheduled date.  I currently am scheduling book reviews, giveaways, interviews, and guest posts up to 2 months out.  If you do not schedule a date with The Book Faery Reviews then it might be anywhere from 3-6 months before your book is reviewed/posted.  Contact thebookfaeryreviews (AT) gmail (DOT) com to see if your requested date is available.  The main page lists the events/reviews happening for the current month in the sidebar.

Blog tours, author interviews, and guest posts will receive high priority over other book requests.  I do my best to try to read/post all ARCs before the release date.

Author Interviews & Author Guest Posts:

Author interviews and guest posts are another way to get exposure to my readers.  Please contact The Book Faery Reviews at thebookfaeryreview (AT) gmail (DOT) com for more details.

Sponsor a Giveaway:

Another great way to spread the word about your products is to sponsor a reader giveaway. I will ask you to send me a book or any other giveaway item first for me, and then you will hold products aside to ship directly to my giveaway winners.

Giveaways are held during the week for typically 2.5 days.

I’m very flexible with giveaways, simply let me know what you would like me to give away, how many of each item, and who can enter. I will run the giveaway, collect the addresses, and forward that information to you for direct shipping to the winners. Giveaways are hugely popular among bloggers right now!

Post Format:

Each post will include the book cover, link to author website, link to purchase, synopsis, and my personal thoughts about the book if it is a review.

Who gets Notified:

Book Faery Review “events”/reviews are currently posted at Goodreads, Book Blog, Facebook, Myspace, Mom Bloggers Club, Mom Spark, BlogCatalog, Mybloglogs, Cafemom, Twitter (@wifeandmomof3), Ruthie Talk, Romance Readers & Writers, LibraryThing, Shelfari, RSS readers & e-mails of Book Faery Review subscribers.

**ADDITIONAL NOTE**

  • Any and all items I receive are non-returnable and will not be used as the giveaway item(s) or sent back.
  • ARC & regular book copies received are for our book collection and not sold.  I may however offer a book for a future giveaway.

  1. Hello! Would you be interested in reviewing my forthcoming (July 2009) historical novel, THE BELLY DANCER. Here’s the jacket copy:

    A scandal that shocks a nation…
    A passion that transforms a woman…

At the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, the modern, the exotic, and the ground-breaking collide as exhibitions from all corners of the globe draw millions of spectators. But Dora Chambers has more pressing matters to consider.

Dora has hopes to begin a long-dreamed-of life of wealth and privilege in Chicago. So she sets out to earn the approval of the local women of high society–the World Fair’s Board of Lady Managers–to appease her socially ambitious, aloof husband. Unimpressed with the young bride from New Orleans, they give her the distasteful task of enforcing proper conduct on the Egyptian belly dancing exhibition.

But Dora’s sensibilities are not so easily flustered by the dancers. She finds herself captivated by these exotic women, and by their enigmatic manager, Hossam Faruk, who makes his mistrust of her known–although his lingering glances hint at something else.

As Dora’s eyes are opened to the world beyond her own oppressive life of social expectations and quiet servitude, she finds the courage to break free of her self-imposed bondage, and discover the truth about the desire and passion in her own heart.

  2. @ DeAnna: I would love to review your book! :-)
