Sunday Salon…Another Sunday!!

It’s Sunday again and I’m exciting to FINALLY say that I FINALLY FINISHED Alice Hoffman’s Blue Diary and so is the book review!! YEAH!  In addition, I’m currently half way through Tracie Peterson’s A Lady of High Regard (look for a review by Wednesday).  As soon as I’m done with that which will likely be this evening or Monday, I plan to complete Christine Feehan’s Turbulent Sea.  I enjoy these kinds of books so it won’t take me long.

This week I did pick up some new books for my collection.  Since I love historical fiction, I picked up the following Thursday…

·         Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue (about the life of a prostitute born in London 1748)

·         Mr. Knightley’s Diary by Amanda Grange (the story of Emma from Mr. Knightley’s point of view)

·         Never a Bride by Amelia Grey (story of a lady during London’s Regency period who kisses many men to find the man who’s responsible for her best friend’s death)

·         Let Sleeping Rogue’s Lie by Sabrina Jeffries (story of a woman who falls in love with a rogue who teaches her class rake lessons so they know which men to avoid)

Oh and I was THRILLED when I got a new hardback copy of Jane Austen’s Seven Novels which contains Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, and Lady Susan.  I LOVE a hardback book that decorated beautifully so a jacket is not required.  There’s something about a hardback book that I just love.  I personally wish my book collection were predominately like this sort.  They just seem to last longer and are absolutely stunning on a bookcase, on the coffee table, or on a nigh stand.

How about you?  Do you enjoy hardback or do you prefer paperback?  Or perhaps you’d rather have a digital copy of your favorite books?  I have all kinds of book versions but hardbacks are the ones I crave the most…
