Sunday Salon…3.22.09

THERE IS A LAND
There is a land -
A marvelous land -
Where trolls and giants dwell;
Where witches
With their bitter brew
Can cast a magic spell;
Where mermaids sing,
Where carpets fly,
Where, in the midst of night,
Brownies dance
To cricket tunes;
And ghosts, all shivery and white,
Prowl and moan.
There is a land
Of magic folks and deeds,
And anyone
Can visit there
Who reads and reads and reads.

Sunday Salon…02.08.09

Photobucket

It’s the official FIRST Sunday Salon of the year!  Boy has it been a long time but as The Book Faery Reviews is about to kick into gear again, I figured that I needed to get back into the habit of weekly updates in this faery’s book world.

In addition to my other groups I’m in, this week I joined a couple new book communities and got more involved in some of my other book groups.  Here are a couple great book communities to get into if you already aren’t involved in them…

This week I’ve managed to complete the last book of Nora Roberts Seven Trilogy called The Pagan Stone and now reading Sabrina Jeffries In the Prince’s Bed.

Tomorrow the giveaway for Randall Brant’s Blood Harvest is ending and a winner will be selected. So if you haven’t already gone to that post be sure to leave a comment for a chance to get a copy for free.

Later this month there will be more book giveaways coming. Once the Blood Harvest giveaway is done, there will be another for The Italian Lover.  So do be sure to come back to get a chance for that giveaway.

Tomorrow is officially Read in the Bathtub Day so be sure to grab a book and relax in the tub!

Till next Sunday…

Sunday Salon…I’m Behind!!

Photobucket

Oh dear…I’m behind…I have not posted a Sunday Salon in 2 weeks…I’m STILL “reading” the same 3 books that was posted 3 Sunday’s ago…Blue Diary by Alice Hoffman, Turbulent Seas by Christine Feehan, and Lady of High Regard by Traci Peterson.  So today, since I am SICK (eee) and I have Tuesday posts up for my other site at www.wifeandmomof3.net posted and placed an update here, I’m sitting either on the couch or in bed today and READING!!!  I have less than 100 pages left of Blue Diary and then I want to dig into Lady of High Regard.  I WILL get these done before the coming Sunday and have reviews completed on at least Blue Diary.  I want to start on some new books!!  I WILL, I WILL, I WILL!!

Sunday Salon 4

Welcome to another Sunday Salon!  Today’s post will be fairly short as not much has been happening in the land of books.  This week I didn’t get a lot of reading done due to spending time recreating my other blog at www.wifeandmomof3.net.  BUT I did manage to FINALLY complete Ray Bradbury’s short novel Somewhere a Band is Playing found in his book Now and Forever.  I did add a post just before this Sunday’s Salon write-up in case you’re interested in what I thought about it.  In addition, I have been reading Christine Feehan’s Turbulent Seas which is the 6th book of the Drake Sisters series.  I don’t plan on posting a review on Feehan’s book until I complete the 7th book in the series (coming out this month) so look for the review next month.  I should have Feehan’s book done tonight or tomorrow and have plans to begin Alice Hoffman’s Blue Diary and Lady of High Regard by Tracie Peterson this week.  Look for those reviews before next Sunday’s Salon.
